Blackmail and Legislating Through Fear

The Democrats seem to be holding their breath and hoping nothing happens between now and election day. They do not want to be blamed for anything that might happen between now and the time George W Bush leaves office. Bush and the Republicans understand this very well. They know they can blackmail the Democrats into voting for anything because they are afraid. They are afraid of another terrorist act and they do not want to be blamed for it. So they legislate out of fear. That is why so many voted for the piece of crap called the FISA bill.

They knew that the present law was the best law to protect citizens rights and our nation. Yet, they succumbed to their fears. They rationalized that it was "far better" than the previous legislation. They have been blackmailed into voting against our Constitution. They are scared to death that something will happen before they can take power from the present fascists. And they scare the hell out of me.
