Hahaha, "Reply To All" Really Does Work!
I had received one of those anti-Obama e-mails, like we all receive from time to time. It was stupid and so easily refutable. I thanked him for "his concern" and directed him to numerous sources that refute the smears. I then encouraged him to focus his attention and concern on those "Things You Need To Know About McCain." A DUer had posted this a couple of days ago and I just knew it would come in handy.

I then sent this very polite to "Reply To All" and now the replies are coming in to him in droves. "Who is this woman?", "Doesn't sound like one of your conservative friends." The sender is a childhood friend of mine from Jersey, somewhere along the line he drank the kool-aid and has been sending me repuke garbage for a couple of years. I get the feeling his address list does not like to receive anything left-leaning. He did get advice from one of them to "BCC" his address list, etc.

It just feels so good to slam them with facts, annoy them, hit them with the truths they just do not want to hear. Poor Joe, how will he ever explain me? Oh, and thanks to the DUer who provided that wonderful McCain piece. So glad I saved it.

3. My niece once sent out a list of stupid quotes from famous people
And all the Dan Quayle ones had been falsely attributed to Al Gore. I replied all - because I'm just so damn helpful, damn it - and corrected that mistake and then made a joke about the glut of stupid quotes coming from the current resident of the White House.

My reply got passed along to a couple of her classmates not on the original list and one of them, a then senior, took to threatening to "kick a mudhole" in my chest for being a liberal which ended up with our having an email flame war for a few weeks with his getting more and more infuriated with me because 1) he wasn't that smart, and 2) he couldn't find out where I lived (I'm unlisted). He even called a guy with the same uncommon name as mine in Milwaukee (I'm in Tulsa, and I told him that). I kept jokingly offering to meet him at the McDonalds that's in his hometown next time I was there to visit family so I could buy him a Happy Meal before he proceeded to kick said mudhole in my chest, but he never took me up on my offer. I finally asked my niece who this guy was, and when she found out what was going on, she went up to him in school and yelled at him, "Leave my uncle alone! He's 3 times bigger than you!" like I was actually going to hunt this guy down and put him in the hospital for bothering me with his infantile threats.

He did stop bothering me after that though. Thanks, niece.

5. I did that and a couple of people wrote back THANKING me for speaking out.
Guess my erstwhile friend didn't know her list as well as she thought she did. After that I asked to be removed from my former friend's list.

6. Be sure to save that email with the addresses.
If your friend decides to use the BCC option you can use the email addys from the old email to still "reply all".
