Brokaw named as Russert replacement... |
|
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 10:34 AM by Texas Explorer
MSNBC just reported that Tom Brokaw will fill the seat vacated by the late Tim Russert - at least until the end of the general election. What do you think? Eidted to add: Just noticed this in http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3500175">another thread, to which I defer.

and has even admitted so...one of the greatest things we could do as progressives is to wean the American public off of the MSM teat and have them hunt for "food" (information) on their own via alternative news sources.

4. Someone had to take the job |
|
Replacing someone who did a job for over a decade is no easy task. Brokaw will probably be the first of several who NBC place in that slot until they find the best fit. It will not be Olberman, though. Sadly, NBC does not an adequate supply of balls to go there.

6. He has (physically, not politically) woken up since 2000 |
|
Ah, yaas, Election Night 2000, I shall never forget: Dan RATHER was all wired up, popping up and down in his chair, spouting regionalisms. The other anchors were at least doing their jobs. And then there was BROKAW----so BORED, blase, mumbling through almost literal somnolescence. He had seen it all, done it all, and this was just one more piddling little election to him. Even when the evening started showing signs of something SCREWN, he barely stopped chewing on his tongue.
In the last few years, out of the *total* grind, he has seemed to be more "alert".
