It had to happen. "Maybe It was God's will"
I was at a place earlier which has a live band every Sunday, and naturally, people started talking about all the water we've had around here. So sure enough, some guy piped up and said, "Maybe it was god's will that the levee broke in Gulfport". For those unfamliar with the tiny town of Gulfport, IL, it is mainly known for after hours night life. Strip joints in other words. Anyway, I just had to open up my big mouth and say, "You're full of shit". The guy asked me ,"Is it Global warming". I replied, "Probably played a role but this is the Midwest and it does rain here". Anyway, the guy basically got shot down because people knew he was full of shit. And the people who disagreed with him were Obama supporters. Each and every one of them said they support Obama.

1. Absolutely perfect weather for Gay Pride in Utah and Boston while Iowa was drowning.
How was the weather for Gay Pride in Sacramento today?

3. Not a clue
And I don't care. I do know that the gay pride fest next week in Davenport, IA has been rescheduled for the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. LeClaire Park likely won't be ready for people yet.

5. Probably God's will that we spent a trillion dollars in Iraq and
keep 150,000 soldiers there while allowing our infrastructure to rot and having no organized response for these disasters, too.

8. If everything was up to "god"- we'd all be perfect, and live in
paradise.

Maybe those who wanted to point to god as bringing the flooding as somekind of 'judgement' might want to re-read the record in their bible, about the flood of Noah- and take note of the promise made by the god they are accusing of punishing the earth with flood yet again.

I'm glad those who were for Obama recognized the foolishness for what it was.

There are many people who hide their own anger, judgement and bigotry behind the name of "god"-

sad. I hope you are staying safe, and that the flooding stops.

peace~
