I mostly agree with Charlie Black on this one .......
..... that the Repubicans will benefit from a terrorist attack (almost) anywhere in the world.

McCain made lots of self-righteous noise in disavowing it. As if Charlie had said he was wishing for an attack. Or engineering one. He wasn't. He was simply saying that the Repubicans have benefited in the past from things that go bump in the night and from loud yelling of "Boo!".

McCain's arm flapping was the funny part of this story. If he was really upset with Charlie's words and saw them as having anything other than the obvious meaning (the Repubics win on fear), he'd fire the guy.

Betcha he doesn't.

1. I Disagree, I Think Obama Would Play It Right
If there was another attack he would (I hope) put the blame squarely at the feet of the failed Bush-McCain foreign policy that has made the world less safe, and people would be ready to listen to him at this point.

4. Obama can't take on the "liberal media" by himself.
They would decide who would benefit.

5. Nope
Not anymore. The internets reach more people nowadays than Corporate Media. It's not the same field anymore. At the very least there's a fighting chance Obama's message would get through.

7. I agree with you...
I think it's kind of hard to get a feel for what's going on in this country. The squeaky wheels that get the grease are not at all representative of the populace, and certainly nothing seen on the infotainment television stations are. I know people like to say that Americans are ignorant, but I myself was totally uninformed until I found my way around the internets. I have woken up, and crammed a lot of information in my brain in the last 8 years. I don't think I'm alone.

2. They sure as hell benefited from the one in Sept of 01
Lots of magic powers for the pResident

Lots of money disappeared

Lots of hokey security excuses for trashing the rights of Americans

Lots of 'do it for the children homeland' excuses for what they wanted to do or didn't want to do.

Lots of diversions from the biggest robbery in the history of the human race.

They scored big time from terrorist attack. Makes one wonder.

10. Would the same hold true if...
...the terrorist happened to be another blond, blue-eyed, Catholic, war hero, mom and apple pie type who may blow up another federal building full of children as Tim McVeigh did?

13. Come on now ...... it would form the basis of a lne of reasoning that goes something like this .....
...... "Obama is too green and too naive to be effective against foreign warfighters. John McCain is a war hero who will never surrender. He comes from a long line of war heroes who never surrendered."

This is the same shit they fed the stupid when Bush was running against Kerry. "Kerry was a coward who threw his medals away and went windsurfing during his time in the Mekong Delta and when he invaded Cambodia. Bush was tough and resolute."
