Israel 'will attack Iran' before new US president sworn in, John Bolton predicts
ohn Bolton, the former American ambassador to the United Nations, has predicted that Israel could attack Iran after the November presidential election but before George W Bush's successor is sworn in.

The Arab world would be "pleased" by Israeli strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, he said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.

"It will be positive privately. I think there'll be public denunciations but no action," he said.

Mr Bolton, an unflinching hawk who proposes military action to stop Iran developing nuclear weapons, bemoaned what he sees as a lack of will by the Bush administration to itself contemplate military
strikes.

1. He needs locking up.
Spreading fear in this way could technically be classed as assault.

3. Have any of these neocons predicted
anything that has actually turned out to be true or has come to pass? No, I didn't think so either.

4. That is fucked up...
They are coming out of their hidey-holes to support Israel's bombing Iran should Obama win the election.
Israel, however, still had a determination to prevent a nuclear Iran, he argued. The "optimal window" for strikes would be between the November 4 election and the inauguration on January 20, 2009.

5. John Bolton has delusions of grandeur
The only way that he would know what Israel is going to do would be if (a) he had some influence on them; or (b) someone there was telling him all the state secrets. Neither of which is remotely likely to be the case; so he can just STFU about his war-daydreams, and take a long walk on a short pier.
