Poll question: How much longer will Bushie-Style tyranny reign in what was once the USA?
Edited on Tue Jun-24-08 10:18 AM by tom_paine
So, it comes out today that everything we suspected was going in at the Department of Injustice was going on, from top to bottom.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3365417

We also KNOW that the Bushification/Nazification is going on in every corner of government. Honest people, Democrats and Republics alike, are being forced out and replaced by Loyal Bushies, political appointees are being cemented into place by changing their status in mid-stream, thus turing them into civil servants with all the job protections that entails, making it difficult to DeBushify.

The media has already undergone the same process and is an embrassament, the judiciary the same, though I see that as the branch that has proven most resistant to Bushie Tyrannical manipulations, which ain't saying much.

Everywhere, this is occurring. Every part of society. The same reptile-brains unleashed by the Nazis are being unleashed here, in a much less violent way. But the similarity is undeniable.

How MUCH of this has our govermental infrastructure, our very society, already taken? How much more can it take until a Point of No Return has been reached?

Given the almost total lack of Democratic Pushback at the Congressional Level, how much can this nation take before the damage is irrevocable and irreparable?

In my worst nightmare, an Obama win (if such is possible in the Age of Diebold) does nothing but gives us a rest between Bushies, who will pick up like they were never gone they next time they seize power. This is what happened during the Bill Clinton Presidency, which fooled so many of us, including me, into thinking all was well, because the wellness was COSMETIC not SUBSTANTIVE.

So, for the purposes of this poll, I would like to define SUBSTANTIVE as it applies here.

When I say SUBSTANTIVE, I am referring not so much to prosecution and impeachment as I am to making efforts to "reconnect the constitutional burglar alarms" such that the next Bushie to sit on the throne can't easily do what BushCheney have done or worse.

Things to restore the integrity of our voting systems, like eliminate paperless DREs and reinstitute goverment inspections of voting machines, ESPECIALLY electronic ones. Make November Election Day a National Holiday.

To restore FOIA fully and eliminate warrantless wiretapping.

I could go on and on and on and on, so much is needed to be done, including how to DeBushify our Executive Agencies. But I hope I have adequately defined what I mean when I say SUBSTANTIVELY as opposed to Bill Clinton's Presidency, which APPEARED to substantively make things better, but which, for all the economic and other good he did, was just a short break from the Bushies, who came back in and started right uip again like they'd never left off.

So, having said all that and understanding that just getting Obama on the throne, and him just being another Bill Clinton sweeping Bushie crimes under the rug (other than his failure to recognize and counter the Bushie Tyranny as it rose, he was a great President, in case anyone thinks I am just slamming Big Dog across-the-board)is NOT what I mean when I say SUBSTANTIVE.

There is so much to be done about so many different things, it boggles the mind.

It is a given that McBush getting on the throne will extend and expand Bushie Tyranny.

One last thing. I feel compelled to mention the Soviet people took 70+ years of Bush-like bahavior from their leaders, to awake and arise nonviolently in 1990. And Soviet Propaganda was 1/10th as powerful as Bushie Propaganda. The Romans lost their Republic and NEVER got it back.

So now, once again, the poll question:

How much longer will Bushie-Style tyranny reign in what was once the USA?

1. Ask the Bush Democrats. They hold the key.

3. I get what you're saying, and certainly that is a component.
I would call it the Neutralization of the Democratic Party, which, coincidentally  is EXACTLY what the Watergate Conspirators had in mind fo rthe future of the Democratic Party and Leadership.

But the Bush Assault on Democracy is so multi-faceted, so well-funded, and even NOW so little detected by the general populace or even half of DUers it goes well beyond normal politics or the Bush Democrats.

In others words how many other media and Constituional "burglar alarms" had to be disconnected to create what you call the Bush Democrats.

Plus a few envelopes of anthrax to a few carefully chosen Democrats, followed by the obvious tanking of the investigation by Loyal Bushies, delivering the clear message, "We can murder you and yours and LOOK! WE'LL be the 'cops' they call to investigate!"

Plus Warrantless Wiretapping, which has almost certainly been used to good effect to dig up blackmail dirt on any Dem willing to stick their head up.

So what we are left with are the Kuciniches and Feingolds, those few who apparently gave nothing the Bushies can blackmail them WITH. That or something close to that.

I WISH the problem was ONLY the Bush Democrats. This poll would not have been posted, for the future existance of the American Republic would NOT be in doubt, if that was the only problem.

2. Mother Nature will take care of things fairly soon
It isn't nice to make Mother Nature Angry.... IMO if this is allowed to continue, mankind doesn't deserve to exist on this wonderful planet we inhabit.

4. You are probably correct about that. One bad case of head-lice - fumigated.
Unfortunately, that does not help us in the here and now.

Come to think of it, it doesn't help any of us "head-lice of the Earth".
