Rep. Bob Etheridge (supposed Dem.) was on Wash. Journal

this a.m. he talked a lot but actually didn't say anything of significance. the interesting thing though was when an angry caller called him on Israel, etc. he pretended that he didn't hear the question because his ear piece was turned down and the host jumped in and said they would just go to the next caller. which was unusual as the hosts usually repeat the caller's question.

several callers later a caller asked him to answer the first Israel caller plus asked his own question. to which Bob said 'he didn't know' and they went on to another caller.

was interesting to watch.

1. I was watching, and after a half hour, I thought
he doesn't sound like a Democrat. Then I decided he must be one of those "blue dog" dems who are always voting with the Republicans.

2. He is exceptionally conservative
He represents a very white, rural district here in NC and is probably about the best we can do. He is actually not even our worst Democrat in this regard. Heath Shuler and a guy from Wilmington are worse.

3. I never even watch WJ anymore.. The ONLY dems they have on
are usually toadies or DINOS, and even then the (R)s vastly outnumber them..and every other guest seems to be from CATO, Heritage Foundation or AEI.

They will have some frothing-at-the-mouth rightwinger on for 45 minutes..& the topic is "why are democrats so evil"... and then for "balance" they will have a democrat on for 30 minutes...discussing "pros & cons regarding cardboard packaging"..

That way Brian Lamb can angrily denonunce people when they complain about bias..

He always says.."We balance our guests between the parties"....but he never mentions the part about how the TOPICS they are asked to comment on, are hardly on par with each other..
