Call your congress-critter right f-ing now, why?
Has it ever accomplished anything? How often has a representative or senator changed their position because of a caller?
Email then instead? I'm sure they operate "junk spam/constituent" programs that send out a "thanks for your concern" email and then delete it.

The congress knows where we stand, yet they continue to operate in a bubble, surrounded by other congress critters and lobbyists. They spit on you in your double wide trailer or your over mortgaged 1000 square foot cookie cutter home in (insert town here).

Dont call your Congress Critter. Damn them, damn them to unemployment. Run for local office yourself. Support new candidates (who will ultimately let you down as well)

So what's the point of this post? It doesnt have one, nor does it suggest a plan of action. This post accomplishes the exact same thing as a vast majority of the "Call your congressman right now"- nothing.

Have a beer and watch some tv. God knows you arent really going to do anything other than make a two minute call that makes you feel like you have participated in solving whatever problem has weighed down your conscience. "Shwew, I made a call to a congress switchboard operator, I have done my part."

1. Well, can't the same be said about voting?
"God knows you arent really going to do anything other than make a two minute call that makes you feel like you have participated in solving whatever problem has weighed down your conscience."

Are you suggesting we live in this illusion of a democracy as little powerless slaves that have no ability to produce meaningful change on a large scale?
