......... they've not been competitive in decades ..... if ever.

We owe a debt to Dr. Dean for his 50 state strategy.

Now we hear that the Obama campaign has dispatched paid staff to all 50 states. Yes, that's right. The Obama campaign is putting paid, professional staff on the ground in all fifty of these United States.

I'm liking this. To be sure, we won't win everywhere we compete, but bygawd we're gunna compete! And we're gunna have one hell of a showing as we win the white house and greater majorities in both houses of Congress.

And all this is gunna cost Captain McSame some serious bux or serious vote deficits.

Today we see a new INDIANA poll showing Obama up by 1 point. Yeah, within the MOE. But Geeze, its Indiana fer krissakes.

The Senate is the amazing thing. Was it yesterday, maybe earlier today, that chinless ratfucker McConnell is being pressed hard in Kentucky. And Virginia. Two Democratic Senators? Wow! The cousins Udall. Wow/Wow! Sununu's crashing big time in New Hampshire.

Across the country, the Dems are running really strong.

50 states.

Fifty States.

I love it. No playing for the margins. Right down the middle. Slam it and slam it hard.

We owe Howie a shitload!

Go Howie! The unsung hero.

I'll take that scream any damned time he wants to do it again!

Yeeeeargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Agree. I think the 50 state strategy is paying off, and coupled with
Obama's apparent intent to parallel that at the top of the ticket bodes the Party well, up an down the races,in November.

4. This primary season was all about control of the party leadership
The DLC backed Clinton and a win for her promised to put them back into control of the party, making sure a conservative strategy of feeding the party in reliably Democratic states while starving the party in every other state would be put back into place.

We all know how well that worked out.

It's very telling that one of the first announcements the Obama team made after the June 3 primaries put him over the top in delegates was that Dr. Dean would remain party chairman. That means they recognize the validity of his 50 state strategy and that the DLC is going to have to sit on the sidelines for at least 4 years.

So far, the party is 3 for 3 in special elections in former GOP strongholds. I think that's adequate proof that Dr. Dean, Obama, and those of us who voted for Obama made the right choices this year.

Clinton was not a bad candidate. She was just backed by a bad team.

5. Obama is competitive even here in red state Alaska,
although I believe McCain is currently ahead by just a few percentage points. That can easily change before November. Democrats here also stand a very good chance of winning Senate and House seats with both Stevens and Young under investigation.

7. I have a feeling that the amount we owe Dean is just going to keep growing.
It's working. He's doing exactly what he said he would and what many said was impossible to pull off.

Yeeeeargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
