3. Ruh roh...
Is McCain imploding already? I was expecting him to last at least until the fall.

If this trend keeps going, do you think they will nominate Jeb at the convention instead? This is bad enough that I could see him pulling out for "health" reasons so that somebody else could get a shot.

10. Sadly, I'm beginning to agree with others that McCain won't be the nominee.
He's stubborn as hell, and he probably won't go quietly, but I think the Repub convention will choose someone else.

11. Nah.
There's a substantial faction of wingnuttia that's already written this election off. They actually don't mind a McCain loss, since it can be written down to MCCAIN and not to the GOP/RW brand in general. They're fine with a scenario in which the blame will rest with a guy they didn't support even lukewarmly until he was the inevitable nominee.

12. That would be fun!
Derailing the Straight Talk Express. That'll fracture the Party worse than it is now with not nearly enough time to heal the internal wounds and run a national campaign. Let them try to install Bush III and see how the electorate reacts...

13. We think alike, I'm betting they pull a Mitt/Jeb '08, which would be a
gift to us really. The Repuke brand isn't damaged nearly as much as the Bush brand. If they put Jeb on the ticket, we're probably looking at an Obama 50 state sweep.
