Only 23 percent of Americans said they approve of President Bush’s job performance in a new Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg survey, http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-poll25-2008jun25,0,5763707.story which is a new low for him in that poll. Seventy-three percent of respondents said they disapproved of the job Bush is doing.

It's a little difficult to overstate the importance of these numbers, for they suggest that no reasonable person--and most of the unreasonable ones--has escaped punishment for the election thefts of 2000 and 2004. Mistakes have been made, people will be blamed... and lessons have been finally, painfully learned.

Will the lesson be remembered? One can only hope.
