Neil Young Continues to Speak Out on Bush Impeachment

" needs to be impeached for what he did. I mean, the Senate has verified it. It needs to happen for history. It's like a dirty business. It needs to be taken care of. Nobody wants to be bothered, but it should happen, because do we want to let this go down in history? It's a cancer. It's a blight. It has to be eradicated. You have to look at this and go, 'The president mislead the people into going to war, lost 5,000 troops, there's hundreds of thousands of people killed in Iraq, billions and billions of dollars were taken out of the economy for the war, and now we've discovered for sure -- the Senate committee has said, 'Yeah, he did. He lied.' ' So what do you have to do to get impeached? What do you need to do? And who are we if we don't do it ... if we don't actually say, 'Hey -- the law! You can't do that!'"

2. Neil Young was against the Viet Nam war, too.
Just last night, I listened to his greatest hits 2 CD set "Decade", after not hearing it for a long time. All day today, I had Neil Young songs going through my head. One of them was "Ohio", about the Kent State shooting of protesters.

4. Did you know that Rick James and Neil Young were in the same band, way back when?
I was thinking about that, and wondering whether Rick James had any part in some of the earliest songs on "Decade". This thread inspired me to play the CD again! LOL.

Neil Young apparently has some convoluted ideas, by listening to his lyrics, but, he is a true artist.

6. Neil Young does indeed have convoluted ideas, which will become apparent
when you listen to his lyrics. I just needed to say that, in case anyone who was not already familiar with Neil Young, jumped to conclusions about what I wrote.

He has odd configurations about women, mostly. But I appreciate that he spilled his heart and psyche, while being an innovative and creative musician.

12. Thanks. I did not know Neil Young is a Scorpio, LOL.
So am I, and so was an ex-boyfriend who was a fan. If astrology means anything, that is.

He had some Neil Young on vinyl that I wish I could hear again. There was a song about a vampire...

21. Never heard the one about the vampire but i never claimed to know much
There was some info about Neil in Wiki that i never knew till just then. The very first record album i ever bought was "After the Gold Rush" album when i was 12 years old (37 years ago) so it seems funny to hear about such history lessons now

22. He played it once, it mentioned vampires, and I liked it. That's all I can remember.
I'm only 37 years old, myself. I think I was conditioned to like good music because I heard it as a child.

Anyway, there is so much good, forgotten music out there!

5. History needs to know that bu$h and Cheney paid for their crimes
It needs to be a sign to the future that this was not allowed and will not be allowed to happen without repercussions.

7. Isn't Neil Still A Canadian Citizen?
I salute Neil for his stand and seeing the light...he supported boooosh in 2000..but saw the light and has been an outspoke critic ever since.

What's missing these days are more musicians and pop culture types to come out against Iraq and this regime...that's what united many of us during the 60's and 70's...I'd love to be able to turn on the radio and hear a good NEW anti-war tune.

19. musicians and pop culture types have been coming out, the MSM chooses to ignore them.
Or ridicule them outright. Charlie Sheen, The Dixie Chicks, Sean Penn, Bruce Springsteen, etc. As for radio, you'll be lucky to hear good anything these days, let alone a decent anti-war song.

20. There is more truth and honesty in that one song and video than the whole Democratic Party
has been able to tell in their seven years as the so-called opposition.

People can find more at http://www.neilyoung.com/ . The further you probe the more you will be rewarded/enlightened.
