6 dead in Henderson, Ky., plastics plant shooting

By RYAN LENZ | Associated Press Writer
9:04 AM CDT, June 25, 2008

HENDERSON, Ky. - An employee got into an argument with a supervisor at a western Kentucky plastics plant early Wednesday, then shot and killed five people before killing himself, police and a company official said.

The shooting happened around midnight at Atlantis Plastics in this Ohio River town of about 28,000 people.

The employee began fighting with a supervisor and was escorted from the building, company CEO Bud Philbrook said. As he was leaving, he took out a gun, shot the supervisor, then charged back into a break room and shot several employees. Then, he returned to the floor and shot another employee before killing himself, Philbrook said.

1. Yes, provided
that they have a current concealed carry permit and that concealed carry has not otherwise been prohibited by the employer.

2. Only if the employer doesn't prohibit it
Just like everywhere else.

My guess is that guns were not allowed at Atlantis Plastics, and the shooter broke the rules.

of weapons but then makes sure THEIR work place is safe. Can't carry a gun into any state buildings in Frankfort but all bets are off for everyone else. If it is such a good idea why shouldn't a citizen be allowed to carry his gun into his representative's office? Where on earth are you going to find a more concentrated group of criminals? (Kidding, sorta) I mean, if you have a permit, you must be okie dokie, you took a class and passed a test what else could anyone possibly want to prove they are just fine? And what are the elected officials scared of that the rest of the citizens shouldn't be? The hypocrisy of this nonsense is astounding. The concept of conceal and carry needed in this day and time is beyond me.

I know a business can post a sign saying concealed weapons aren't allowed but, unlike state offices in Frankfort, they don't have metal detectors at every door.

I think legislators watch too many Ronnie Reagan westerns and take too many checks from the NRA to think clearly.
