McClellan: Cheney’s memoir could be called, ‘I Upped Halliburton’s Income - So Up Yours.’
from ThinkProgress:

McClellan: Cheney’s memoir could be called, ‘I Upped Halliburton’s Income - So Up Yours.’»

In a speech at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco last night, former White House press secretary Scott McClellan offered cutting criticism of Vice President Dick Cheney, saying he “had a terribly negative influence over this president.” At one point, McClellan suggested “some ideas for book titles Cheney might consider“:

McClellan who is clear that he has no great admiration for Cheney, joked to the audience that his national book tour has given him some ideas for book titles Cheney might consider: “The Lies I Told,” or “I Upped Halliburton’s Income - So Up Yours.”

McClellan also offered potential book title ideas for Karl Rove and Scooter Libby: “The Lies I Told to Whom and Why” and “Well, Pardon Me,” respectively.

4. You've been here long enough to remember all the discussion of McClellan.
It was a near-consensus around here that he hated to lie for Bush, but did it anyway, unlike Tony Snow, who was a true believer who loved to lie for his cause. He probably still thinks it was virtuous. I think McClellan is sincere, and I don't think it was a sudden conversion, but a final release of his inhibitions against speaking out.

Plus, his mom is well-known here in Austin, and she's a clear moderate. She was a Democratic mayor in Austin who became Republican to run for state office, and she didn't have to change her views much. Last year she ran for governor as an independent. McClellan grew up here in Austin (I have friends who went to school with him), where the far left was the power, and the moderates were considered far right. I think he expected Bush to be more like his mom politically, and was upset by what happened.

So I'm sold that he dislikes Bush and the Republicans. I'm just not ready to forgive him so easily. A million dead Iraqis for no good reason--that's not easy to get over. McClellan was weak in a time that required strength. He's making up for some of it now, but that won't change what he did.

5. Very well put!
I just received the book in the mail yesterday afternoon and started it last night. I'm very interested in history and decided to go for it. I'll make up my mind after I finish reading it but there's no way to ignore all the destruction.

I was glad to hear him at the hearing agree that Rove ought to be brought before Congress and McC quickly added that it should be under oath. The book is more than a baby step but he does keep putting one foot in front of the other.

His father wrote a book postulating that LBJ had something to do with JFK's death. Politics and writing seems to run in the family.
