Obama vs Nader
.... listening to Obama's presser. He was asked about Nader's bullshit. He tried to answer the question straight, saying he had, in fact, addressed the issues Nader raised.

I wonder ..... would it be better for Obama to simply dismiss him as a loon or out of touch ...... or the worst - IRRELEVANT.

I think dismissing him as irrelevant is the best thing to do.

1. I think he did the right thing - don't demonize the man; just point out...
...that Nader must not be listening to his speeches. Perfect imo.

3. Be that as it may, the Benedict Arnold Media is pressing him on it ......
.... which is why i think he just needs to dismiss the question, the questioner, and Nader himself as IRRELEVANT.

4. I hope Nader continues to be a pest
and the well deserved thorn in the side of the democratic party, and that he keeps bring up continually ignored issues.

If you believe that...
...you should change the subject of your thread to something like:

"Nader, the Attention Whore"

or

"Nader Hoping To Be Associated with Obama"

6. As long as Obama stands up for traditional Democratic values
Edited on Wed Jun-25-08 04:04 PM by depakid
he'll be fine and won't have to worry with either Nader or whoever the Green Party candidate might be.

Trouble is, he seems to be having a little trouble doing that, particulaly with the FISA sell out.

12. Reckon Pelosi did
Under a Republican House leadership, an "opposition" priority like the FISA bill would have never seen the light of day- and if it had, a Republican candidate wouldn't have gone along for the ride.

It's as if the Dems want to keep handing Bush victories over Americans- even though he's profoundly unpopular and it's an election year!

Obama had a chance to show some leadership and do what a con law professor has to know was the right thing- yet- as has been his history on issues in the Senate, he didn't. If he keeps on that track, he's going to lose a lot of the enthusiasm among his backers who were sold on Obama as a progressive.

If progressive and liberals don't get up and demand Obama quit engaging in self-censorship on behalf of corporate interests and AIPAC, Nader and other third parties will get votes instead of Obama. And when he loses, it will be his and the Democrats in his party's fault for not beating McCain.
