He has held a few cabinet positions in Republican administrations, and
has a decent command of English, which many Republicans interpret as genius
if you have that and are still a Republican. Democrats who speak English
well are just "libbruls," and therefore do not count.

The last time I saw Bennett, he was already quite rotund, on trophy wife
number whatever (but not #1: values, shamlues), and successfully suppressing
public knowledge of his gambling habit. Now he makes his money being a
talking head on TV, and, presumably, still making speeches. He can still be
funny when he wants to, and gives the impression of being lucid, even when
making no sense whatsoever. Swallowing what he says is a different matter
altogether. I think it's a Republican thing--we have difficulty grasping it.
