WTF is wrong with people?
:just shaking head: :(

>>>snip
A 35-year-old man is accused of duct taping his 9-year-old stepdaughter to a tree in the midday heat, the Wise County sheriff's office said Wednesday.

>>>snip
Officers were alerted to the incident when an oilfield worker saw the girl run in tears from a driveway and get taped to the tree by a man with an airsoft gun, the sheriff's office said. The man also placed tape over the girl's mouth.

When officers arrived, her 11-year-old brother was attempting to free her.

It was not the first time the siblings had been taped to the tree for disciplinary reasons, Sheriff Walker said. Investigators found cellphone pictures of both children tied up, and Mr. Castille could face additional charges.

I wasn't aware that tying kids up was considered acceptable behavior.

9. I'd bet on some wacked out fundy fade
There was a boy who died of similar treatment just recently. New fundy fad? Spare the bondage/spoil the child?

Heat kills.

Taping a kid's mouth and the kid likely crying could kill too. Crying can = stuffed, swollen nasal passages. No mouth to breath through at such times could be fatal

Man should be up on reckless endangerment at the very least. (And he should hope he never runs into me in a dark alley)

17. I have never hit my child, for one i don't think i could live with the guilt and for 2
i think it does nothing but show a kid that you as the parent lack impulse control and i think it just instills fear in them. I had a step father who was a real bastard and after having him making my life miserable for 8 years i swore if i ever had a kid i would not hit hit them, ever.

14. North Carolina
Macclesfield, N.C. — A 13-year-old boy who was tied to a tree two nights this week died Thursday, and his father and stepmother have been charged with murder, authorities said Friday.

Brice Brian McMillan, 41, and Sandra Elizabeth McMillan, 36, both of 1110 Felton Farm Road in Macclesfield, have been charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse. They were being held Friday in the Edgecombe County Detention Center without bond.

20. Do you know what is really insane?
I sometimes post at a "mixed" board where libs, cons, centrists post freely. Posting there provides some insight into what the righties are thinking and that can be both good and bad. This article was posted and the righties were all posting that there was no way the dad/parents could be found guilty of murder or should be charged with murder because they had no intent to kill. I'm like "WTF?" - me, a bleeding heart liberal, anti-death penalty, mercy not revenge, poster was actually challenging their idiocy. Tying that child to a tree was torture, false imprisonment and felony child abuse that resulted in his death. The felony murder rule applies and those parents are murderers. The righties couldn't see that to them it was just involuntary manslaughter the parents didn't mean for him to die, they were just punishing him.

8. Kids have no rights
no right to safety or freedom from abuse, by siblings parents, adults and peers.
Wish kids had a safe place to go to be free from assault abuse verbal abuse, teasing,or sexual abuse..A place where any sort of shit like that would not be permitted. I sure could have used a place like that. For me I ran to the woods, often hid up in the trees. My home ,my neighborhood,my whole town was not a safe place for me at all.
