49. Hmmm...a little irksome yes...but this is only the beginning....by the end of this summer..
...and probably no later than the fall we will see the Mother of all "corrections" in my humble opinion..so in the long run, 10% in a week....

We are going lower...MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH lower...the only questions are, how low, how quickly will we get there, and how long will we stay there...

48. I am a cynic. I don't believe people are smart enough to be able to do it.
Too many will get sucked into the Lottery mentality, too many are sucked into that. Maybe *I* will be the one who strikes it rich! Don't increase taxes on the obscenely wealthy because *I* might be the one who strikes it rich! Let me control my retirement because *I* might be the one who strikes it rich.

Nope. Soc security should not be privatized.

50. What Social Security?
The entire fund was already diverted into the federal debt. All of it. Is gone. Will never be repaid. Bush already called it "meaningless IOUs," by which he was referring to Treasury notes of the United States. There is nothing left there to privatize, unless the federal government can come up with 2.5 trillion to put back from what it took. Ha ha. Privatization debate is either the ravings of completely deluded loons or else a way to disguise the fact that there's nothing there, to confuse about what happened when the day arrives that current FICA intake can no longer pay for SS expenditure, and everyone acknowledges what they already know:

IT'S NOT THERE. IT WAS SPENT ALREADY, MAINLY ON THE PENTAGON AND IRAQ AND INTEREST PAYMENTS ON PAST DEBT.

By the way... is it time for people to realize that this is truly tough times?

Will they use the Recession word? Or will they finally use the D word?
