2. Technical nit that may be of interest - DJIA YTD % loss now greater than that of the S&P 500
I'm not sure what it means, but I've been watching them both for about a year. Until just a couple of weeks ago, the DJIA was always about 1.25 - 1.5% less in the red than the S&P 500.

4. Dropping like a rock - down 354.67.
I am SO glad we took our IRAs out of the stock market a while ago. We're not making much, but we're not losing our asses either.

6. smart move to sell out
I have many friends who refuse to pay attention to their IRAs. pensions, other retirement funds.
They put all their confidence in their broker...as if he is on their side.
The market drop in 2000 taught me to pay attention.

and the stock market now is sliding past that low.

All our money is in a local bank now.
And I am watching that bank with both eyes daily.
Last week the bank announced a new 4.01% checking account.
Which 2x what Vanguard MM Fund is paying.

Now why would a local community bank want to start paying 4% on a limited checking account?
