Looks like gramps needs those weekends for his sleep
Edited on Thu Jun-26-08 04:37 PM by malaise
Tweety just said that McSame has had one weekend rally since winning the nomination. I'm betting gramps won't go the distance.

3. We have that bet in our home.
If mc* makes it on the ballot I have to cook dinner every day for a year. If he doesn't make the cut hubby has to do laundry and put it away for a year. This only counts if he comes out the winner at the convention. I really think that they are going to continue to beat on him and at the last minute... sorry Johnny!

8. Great idea
When Michael Manley was campaigning at the end of the 80s of the campaign ads had him jogging around the reservoir. Seaga couldn't walk a block so it was hilarious.

I'd love to see Gramps fall asleep and start snoring in the middle of a debate.

"Presumptive nominee" John McCain.. I think we may get "Schwarzeneggered"

Out here in CA, for those who do not remember, we had a governor recalled in 2003..Gray Davis..

For MONTHS and MONTHS , we had hundreds (literally) of people running for governor.. We had debates ..we had petitions going around.. It was a feeding frenzy..

leading the pack was Darryl "Crybaby" Issa. He was so sure he would be governor, he could TASTE it. He co-hosted local radio shows, he did interviews.. he was Mr. Important...

until...

The republican party put the hammer down on him, and slipped Ahhhnold into place, and shoved little Darryl off the cliff, without so much as a" thanks, pal"..

Of course, at the 11th hour (so to speak) it was conveniently "too late" for him to participate in debates, or face much real scrutiny, and the opposition research and planning had all been to run against Issa, a lowly congressman...not a Mooooovie star, married to a Kennedy.

The rest is history....

Which brings me to my point..

John McCain is a TERRIBLE campaigner
He has ZERO charisma
He's cranky
He's creaky (not entirely his fault, but it's still a fact)
He's not up to snuff on details, he's lousy on the economic facts
He could only muster 73% as the ONLY (running) candidate in PA
He's showing little or NO energy out on the trail
Once his medical records come out, people will peel away from him as if he bathed in skunk-water

I think he's a place-holder..

The lack of enthusiasm might be because he's been "told" that he will NOT be the nominee in the end, but might be Secretary of Defense (He would like that job more anyway, probably)

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, our researchers are planning a campaign against him, but in the end..at the last moment, after a fractious primary season of our own, we may end up facing a well-rested Romney-Jebbie ticket.

Our nominee will be faced with picking a cabinet, a running mate, arranging their schedule for the campaign, and trying to rest a bit..and then face a team they did not even expect.

This team would have had months of rest, and ample time to study up on all the foibles that were so generously put out there by our own party..

All of a sudden the republicans would be jazzed up and excited to have REAL republicans running, and after a protracted fight and probably discordant convention, our party could be rife with wounded dignities and hurt feelings..

See where I am going?

Things may not be what they seem..

Republicans are nothing, if not sneaky :(

I think Jeb is certainly in the picture but that will backfire.

Good post.

10. I've always thought it a cruel GOP trick to put this man on the campaign trail...
He isn't able to campaign properly, let alone lead a country.

This is a horrible thing to do to ANYONE, let alone someone as fragile as McCain.

I don't blame him for the stupid stuff he says... he's had a rough life... the monstrous things he's said are directly related to his life experience, imho. I really do feel sorry for him.

Sorry I don't feel sorry for him - he voted for the illegal war - poor Gramps, he hasn't been in the Senate since April -Hahahahaha. I'm waiting for him to explode in public.

...we need to ask him to step down for his own health.

Maybe start a petition or something...

He obviously wants POTUS bad, but the R's are just toying with him. I really don't think he even knows he's a rube.

17. Are you for or against Age Discrimination?
Or is it only all right to discriminate against someone who you consider the "enemy"?

20. You tell me why McSame doesn't campaign on weekends
then we can have a discussion. Does he need the rest, the sleep, what?

Age matters - this is not about discrimination. What's more McSame's health is suspect. I wouldn't vote for my mother in law and for the record she sure supports the younger candidate.

19. Gramps Doesn't Do Big Houses Anymore
Not that he ever did or could. He's lucky to get a busload of local party aparachniks to his "town halls" and he has to be careful about going into the real world where audiences aren't pre-screened. Plus Gramps is a terrible speaker...he could put 40,000 people to sleep better than Kreskin.

Plus Gramps is using his weekends to rake in the cash. While no mention of rallies, ya wanna bet he's at big money functions...full of his lobbyist buddies...and plenty of Budweiser on tap.

21. Is McCain in favor of privatizing social security?
It seems to me that he's spoken in favor of it in the past, but I'm not sure now. With the stock market going into a nose dive, the idea of private investment accounts is looking more and more ridiculous.

Good time for Obama to raise this and tell them to keep their stinking corporate hands off of Social Security
