(No, I don't really mean that for all those not connecting the DU dots)

2. The white on the left is clouds, not smoke. Compare this with the Cedar Fire of October 2003:

16. It felt like living inside a barbecue for 5 days. I live in San Diego, right in the
thickest part of the smoke cloud, just north of the Mexican border. We lived in that for 5 days nonstop - I think I only went outside the house 2 times in 5 days. My car was covered with a layer of ash, and I rinsed it off, but one day later it was covered again. The smoke had a very bitter smell and taste. I was coughing for 3 weeks after the fires were out.

3. I am seeing weird looking sunlight and incredible sunsets
in Northern California -- like someone put an amber gel over the sun. Scary science-fiction stuff.

6. Ah yes....here in Virginia we have a "Swamp fire"
the Dismal swamp is on fire, smoldering smokey fire. Literally everyday (Richmond) we get some mention of the swamp fire as if we were Springfield and had a constant tire fire.

20. Fire-light.
One of those things that is incredibly seductive and incredibly terrifying at the same time. (Like my ex-wife)

Seriously, it is freaky; my dogs bark at fire light.

7. it is orange brownish here today, this is one of the worst days we've had here
and it shows no signs of letting up. I'm not near the fires, the many fires, the fires all over the state but the smoke is a killer. My best to all of living near them and please stay safe.

9. I drove through some of that yesterday and today....
Took me about 11 hours to get home on the north coast from Sac airport. People knowledgeable about this trip (normally about 5 1/2 hrs) will probably guess that I opted for taking the 299 from Redding rather than the 20 from Williams, and then compounded the error by driving to Yreka to pick up 96, which was also closed-- big mistake, and very time consuming).

The smoke in the upper valley was awful, really awful. We've got smoke here too, but not anything like the smoke on the other side of the mountains.

when will Pat Robertson be on TV explaining that God is punishing California about gay marriage.

God is really punishing us by putting him on or TV.

Cheers
