Court to quit paying utility bills for area rec centers
The Grayson County Fiscal Court will no longer pay the utility bills for community centers in the county.
Grayson County Judge-Executive Gary Logsdon said a 30-day notice would be given to all centers concerning the change.
Logsdon added that after advisement from their current insurance carrier, Cacao Insurance, it was not in the county's best interest to pay the charges.
"They (Cacao Insurance) said it was not good practice to pay utilities on something that we did not own," explained Logsdon.
The community centers affected were Big Clifty, Millwood, and Yeaman.
County officials made the decision during the regularly scheduled fiscal court meeting on June 17.
