Dennis Moore - Bought and Paid For by AT&T
While the Senate is currently debating the FISA "compromise" that happens to include telecom immunity provisions, privacy advocates in Kansas might be interested to know how Dennis Moore voted and why when this bill was passed by the House on June 20th, 2008.
At one time Congressman Moore was against immunity for telecom companies like AT&T and Verizon who were complicit in the federal government's illegal wiretap program. But $18,900 later he saw the error of his ways and voted yes on FISA.
Rep. Moore isn't the only Democrat to sell his vote on FISA. Ike Skelton cashed in $8,500 while Congressman and former Kansas City Mayor Emmanuel Cleaver traded his vote for $6,000, a bargain by anyone's estimations. Rep. Nancy Boyda sold her vote for a meager $1,000, probably a rookie mistake. If she's given more time in congress, we're confident she'll discover her vote is worth much more and find herself capable of demanding higher payouts.
Just a few Missouri and Kansas Democrats proving once again that they are providing the very best government money can buy.
