Isolated Incidents, or why the GOP is never held accountable for anything.

That's an animated gif of a leaking faucet. For this post, each droplet of virtual water is a minor mistake, misunderstood comment, joke taken too seriously.

The GOP is known for controlling the media and by extension the images of their members.

Remember Mark Foley?

What about Glenn Murphy, Jr.?

Or John David R. Atchison?

Enough about the individual assholes, what about their policies?

Let's see, we have an FDA, but under a GOP administration, we've discovered lead in children's toys, e. coli in spinach and lettuce, salmonella in tomatoes, no one will admit how rampant mad cow is in the beef supply, but it's enough for the South Koreans to ban U.S. beef...what else did I miss?

Okay, that's the Party aparatus influencing a government agency, maybe that isn't such a big deal...what about McCain's inability to control his own mouth?

How many isolated accidental slips of the tongue has he been able to get away with?

Well, there was that time when some woman called Hillary Clinton a bitch and he didn't say anything, so I guess that doesn't count.

Oh, then there's the time when he said he doesn't believe a woman has the right to hire a doctor of her choosing, but that's not really saying anything, that's more action than speech.

The, there's his joke today where he said he stopped beating his wife, when he really meant to say something else, but oddly enough, the first words out of his mouth appeared to be something a violent person would consider a joke.

But, that's all in the past.

And they're isolated, not at all related.

2. How many people would be comfortable with a president joking about being a dictator?
Most likely not very many, which is why the MSM conveniently downplayed all of shrub's comments to that effect. We'll hear exactly what they want us to hear and we better be damn happy about it. How many of evangelicals would vote for McCain if they knew that he called his wife a c*nt? Yet the only person who has the balls to bring it up on camera is some guy at one of his town hall meetings (of course, McCain wouldn't answer his question). My god, if we had a media that did its job, this country would be a very different place.

3. Yes, but we have to start somewhere.
I say someone ask him about this latest comment to give him the chance to elaborate on what he really meant.

Instead of relying on surrogates to do his speaking for him.

He can speak for himself; he's old enough.
