7. By having no backbone
I guess when it isn't your child being raped or sodomized, then it's no big deal. At least not to those who sit on the Intelligence committees in the US Congress!!

10. Your sig line is highly apropos.
I look forward to the day when, not only do we have a Democratic majority in Congress, the White House, and in the judiciary, but we can start electing people who actually vote with their hearts and minds instead of in lockstep with the corporations that own them.

2. Your tax dollars at work.
All American's that have not violently opposed this illegal administration are also guilty of these crimes.

I admit my own cowardly culpability here.

3. Seymour Hersh reported this in the New Yorker in 2004.
Edited on Fri Jun-27-08 02:47 PM by yardwork
He said that there are audiotapes and videotapes of children being sodomized and otherwise tortured to get their parents to reveal information. He said that the screams of the children are harrowing. All these materials were made available to Congress. If members of Congress aren't aware of this, then its because they carefully avoided becoming aware.

This information was public before the 2004 elections.

Edited on Fri Jun-27-08 03:01 PM by sfexpat2000
by US troops, and they got those reports when they went into Abu Graib to check on detainees. That's why I'm thinking it was as early as 2002. The RC complained to Bremer and he didn't do anything.

9. Let Freedom Reign!!!1!!
The popular media will never address this because the implications are just too dark. If you accept the reality that the U.S. systematically and intentionally tortured children in order to get to their parents, then the only logical conclusion is that those who ordered these interrogations are guilty of the most heinous war crimes imaginable, and should be tried as war criminals. Man. I can't believe these evil motherfuckers have been running the country for eight years.

12. Longer than that. The U.S. has been doing this kind of thing at least since the 1960s.
We started practicing in Latin America. Moving it to Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay was an acceleration, not a beginning.

I guess they don't "hate us for our freedoms" after all.

They hate us because we anally rape their children in front of them. Now there's a phrase I'd like to hear in a state of the union speech!

19. Did you see any of the Hearings --- ? C-span repeated it last night and
I watched a good bit ---

Here we are looking fascism in the face --- Addington and Yoo --

look like ordinary human beings, don't they?

Addington -- like Cheney --- is defiant -- and I think underneath hiding great anger/

rage that he would be called to account.

Yoo was super cautious trying not to answer anything --- not so confident or dumb as

to show anger.

I think Addington VERY deep in the torture picture --- "hands on" --- ???

Re Randi ---

Yeah ....there was just a HINT that something like that had gone on --

probably a lot!

We've heard this before ... torturing and rape of children . . .

I missed Randi a lot this week --- I listen to her on internet.

What did Randi say --- ??

PS: I think she's a lot better now that she's back in Florida --- more relaxed . . . ???

28. I heard the stories
And a goodly number of people on DU called tinfoil. Something along the lines of "They can't do that!!!"

MK-Ultra proved that they had in the past. There is no reason to give people the benefit of the doubt when they have been guilty before, and unsurprisingly, here they are doing it again.

Congrats to the naysayers- you successfully carried water for Bush for 6 years. How does it feel?

32. I'm waiting for the reports of the secret 'tribunals' and executions.
And you know it's coming...

I have been a "tinfoiler" since the info on MK-ULTRA came out in the seventies. I've been insulted and ridiculed, sometimes on DU. When I posted that my mail was being screwed with in 2005, I was laughed at for that too.

I hate ending up being right about such things.

I doubt there is anything we could ever learn of that would be able to surprise me about our "gov" ever again.

Truly evil people.

35. "They can't mess with your mail- it's against the law!"
You and I know better, though. Everybody else does too now, since Bush was nice enough to make a signing statement to that effect.

And as to being right, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I'm getting sick of being right all of the time regarding what the gov't is doing. I wish I were wrong.

Strange ass world out there when you look beyond the lies, isn't it?

38. I hear ya' Hydra! The mail attack went on for several months.
And they taped it shut when done, that's how I knew. No one I've talked to ever gets several pieces of mail taped shut in A WEEK, much less for months!

It is definitely a mad bizarro world. Ignorance is only bliss until it isn't.

I still would rather know than end up blind-sided as 95% of the country will be in the near future.

My heart weeps for the suffering to come.

39. You can't save everyone
The elite have thrown the dice on the ultimate game of kill or be killed. Will their planning and unlimited resources win the day, or will their status as less than top-notch survivors put them on the wrong end of the mass graves?

It's going to be exciting to see the result of the dice roll. In fact, lets get a random roll, shall we?

2d6- high, we win, low they do

http://www.random.org/dice/

rolled a 5 + 2 = 7

Dead even. Isn't that just perfect?

Things they did in Abu Ghraib have yet to see the light of day.

37. It wil all come out, someday.
And the American people will say either "Yeah, so. This is war." or "We never knew." Where have we heard the last one before. The reality is whenever the terrible slime oozes into public consciousness, the public turns its head until the damage controllers safely contain it again.
