Taliban stronger then ever in Afghanistan, terrorist attacks expected to go up
(Heard on the radio this PM)

How is this possible? I thought those with conservative values did away with the threat of terrorists? I thought the mission was accomplished? Are there any friday afternoon lurkers out there who could explain this phenomenon to me? Surely george bush is not responsible because as we all know members of the party of responsibility aren't responsible for anything.

1. The Taliban need wiping off the face of the Earth. There's no use
for their backwards thinking.

The GOP just wants to slow it down, to make more money.

9. I mean they're dragging it out for more war profiteering
sending in just enough troops to keep it somewhat contained. That, or we've just turned into the Soviets

12. Maybe we should just leave them alone.
And try restraining those Wilsonian impulses for once.

13. I'd rather not hear about more girls' schools being set on fire
after the kids are locked inside. Or women and teens being gang-raped by the 'elders' over honor.

I know we're not perfect, but the world would not miss the Taliban at all.

5. When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An' go to your Gawd like a soldier.

Rudyard Kipling

The Greeks, the Russians, the Mongols, the Brits, the Persians, and a bunch more conquerors have taken a shot at Afghanistan.

We're just the latest wannabee beating our head against that wall.
