Government-by-Blackmail: FBI investigates Monica Conyers
Agents have asked questions about people inside and outside Detroit city government, including Councilwoman Monica Conyers
Sources familiar with the public corruption investigation said the FBI has wiretapped phones, a move that suggests the probe has been under way for some time...

Is this an example of what McCamy Taylor and Lisa Pease have previously exposed -- Government-by-Blackmail?

Keep up the good fight, John Conyers.:patriot:

1. If there is corruption I am in favor of eliminating it no matter who is involved.
It matters not to me if it is a Democrat or a Republican, if they are corrupt get them out of there. Republicans always go to bat for their corrupt people instead of demanding removal. That is a major difference between Liberals and Conservatives. Conservatives don't care about the means, only the ends..

2. Agree, but I don't think eliminating it is always the reason for investigations.
J. Edgar got pretty much whatever he wanted because he had files on most everyone in power, everyone who might rise to power, and all the people dear to the first two groups. Terra terra terra has given cover to over the top surveillance of everyone so I figure corruption has a new king these days.

3. To quote Fred Durst
"We’re All In Agreeance On That"

Of course nobody would accuse the Bush DoJ of being politically motivated. :sarcasm:

4. I used to think that way...
Then I heard the facts about Don Seigleman's case. You will recall his conviction rests on the most threadbare illusion of fact and innuendo.

There are others, and maychance this has something to do with his changing position on impeachment a year ago?

5. It sure makes you wonder...
if he has been compromised in some way? Up till now my main concern was any relationship he may have with Kwame Kilpartrick being used against him...

6. Cheney's Energy Task Force should have been...
and still should be one of their top targets. Given all that has emanated from that:

War in Iraq
Enron Loophole
No-bid contracts to Halliburton and other friends of Bush and Cheney...

Once these scandals that have cost US Billions have been investigated. Then by all means look into these corrupt municipalities.
