Who remembers this blast from the past? (McGovern 1972)

I remember seeing the peace sign with the red, white, and blue, but didn't realize it pertained specifically to McGovern. Thinking about buying this t-shirt!

1. I was on McGovern's campaign when he ran
and I do not recall seeing this.

Sorry about that.

2. Maybe they just made up..

...the idea that the symbol was connected to the McGovern campaign?

I remember seeing it a lot back then, but... hmm.

6. to be honest w/you
my late father was also a supporter of his. He was far from being a liberal, but he was a Democrat. He also greatly disliked the peace sign symbol (referred to as being that of a "chicken foot" which was indeed a negative connotation). However, my brother was waiting for the next lottery to occur and he ended up in the U.S. Air Force. With coffins appearing on television every night, suddenly my rather stoic father became outwardly anti-war and a devout McGovern supporter (it takes what it takes!).

For these reasons, I think I would have remembered this. Dad wouldn't have liked that one - desecration of the American flag is how he'd have seen it.

:dem:

3. I don't and Mom and I worked that campaign. Maybe we couldn't afford
t-shirts or maybe it was a regional thing? :)
