Leaked GOP Internal Memo Shows That No Republican Seat Is Safe/Talks About "Empathy"
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 03:22 PM by ihavenobias
Find out more specifics here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x152195

At any rate, I love this. I mean, how could you not? About the ONLY good thing about the Republicans driving the country into the ground is that they've politically screwed themselves for what will hopefully be many years to come (I know, I know, we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves but still).

Now, the issue on whether or not a strong Dem majority in both houses of Congress will deliver (along with a president Obama) is another thing, and I'm willing to say that I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. That is assuming that Obama wins and we need to do what we can to make sure that happens: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6410712

PS---I don't see any good coming from being 100% overjoyed but I also don't see anything good coming from being 100% cynical and sarcastic.

He and I believe the GOP took a calculated risk... they knew this was going to happen, but the timing to do all they wanted was "a tickin' away". They made their sacrifice... but man the damgae they have done, and how they have split this country more than ever.

The next 30 years could be called the "Great Undoing"

3. California 50 Duke Cunningham's old seat - Republicans have spent more money
on this seat than any seat in history

we are now within 6 points and have hundreds of volunteers.

Check out your nearest 'red' congressional seat.

4. No reTHUGlicon seat should be safe, dump all these bastards as quickly
...as possible from every public office. And lock them up for criminal wrong doing to make sure they can't ever run for any public office again!

5. I live in a district with a safe repuke seat. Elton Gallegly (R-turd)
has "represented" this Ventura County CA district for years. The knuckledraggers reflexively vote R and we get stuck with him every time. I thought we had some opposition going this time, but a woman who had dropped out of the race at one point somehow managed to win the primary and has't been heard from since.

14. Let's *really* get rid of the Republicans this year!
Once and for all. Today's sad, twisted Republican party deserves the fringe, marginalized status accorded to the Animal Rights Party or the American Nazi Party. They do not deserve to be anywhere near the levers of power at any level!

Republicans, go to your rooms right now! I said now! And don't come out until you have thought long and hard about what you have done.

15. a while ago (just after 2006, I believe) GOP ops were
concerned that their image with young voters was so bad, that they might be losing a whole generation of voters.

And their image has only sunk lower since then. When I hear young people talking about the GOP it is not just along the lines of liking the dems better - it is with real aversion to what the GOP has come to stand for.... and this is coming from a red state.

Rove's plotting for a generation of one-party rule may come to fruition... just not in the way as he had intended.
