Outstanding "Frontline" documentary on the lives of young people in China today:
PBS' Frontline is definitely one of the best shows on TV. I really have to recommend their most recent show about the lives of several young people in contemporary China (examined at one year intervals from 2004 to 2008):

The link to watch the streaming video is on the upper right.

I thought this show was very good. What struck me was the extreme emphasis on material success, and also the overall fashion and look of the subjects, I would have a hard time telling a lot of them from Chinese in Hong Kong, Taiwan, or in many instances from those who grew up in the West. A really big change from 10-15 years ago. One gets the impression that almost everyone smart and ambitious there wants to be an entrepreneur now and start their own business.

One sees the "power couple" marriage equivalent of U.S. couples who travel all the time between NYC, LA, Chicago etc. for business.

I was kind of amused that the rapper guy was kind of stuck in LL Cool J mode from the wayback machine.
