I am hopeful that a majority of Catholics will turn out and vote for Obama.

Our pastors Easter's Sunday homily was on Barack Obama's speech on race. His message was that we cannot pretend to proclaim a risen Jesus and be divided by issues of race. This was made to a white congregation.

2. That's a hopeful sign

perhaps the members of the Church are waking up to the fact that the GOP does nothing about their pet causes like getting rid of abortion, and yet they are fully willing and able to pass legislation on other issues, many of which are repugnant to them. If more priests are like yours, and truly listen to Obama's words, then there is a chance that your prediction will come true.

3. there's a lot of undercurrent in the church that just doesn't get the publicity

that the right wingers do.

5. Are you familiar with the organization Catholic Democrats?

They grew out of a group four years ago, Catholics for Kerry. Good group. I know the man who started and heads the group.
