There have been several posts about surviving the money/oil crunch
As I was looking at rain barrels to help offset the cost of water I found a pdf file that led me to a site called icebergs ahead. I wanted to post the information here, in case anyone else was interested.

http://www.icebergahead.org/

This following is a link to the pdf file of information and "predictions" which start at the bottom of page five. (or you can access through the original link)

1. The pdf file looks interesting
Getting ready to go to work, and don't have time to read now, but wanted to kick for others and so that I can find this again. Sent it via email to hubby as well.

2. Another water saver for pet owners is Bingo Bath, I just got my first
bottle. It works just great! Now I know many people are just deciding not to wash their pets and are instead leaving them outside and dirty, particularly people with monster pets like mine, Bull Mastiff, but I like having my gal with me and I like touching and scratching her, so leaving her dirty and outdoors doesn't work for me. Neither does the concern of water waster and the high cost of summer time water rates. Anyway, if you have pets and want to save on water and have (and I quote from Bingo Bath)"no water, no mess, no backache," you should give this stuff a try. The customer service was good too. I didn't have to call for any reason, even still, I received emails immediately after purchasing and a follow up email after it arrived. Sorry, I don't usually get excited about products, but your OP just happens to hit this one that I am thrilled with.

4. It is a waterless bath, spray it on, love on the dog a while (ie. . .
rub and massage it into the fur, and towel off. Its really pretty amazing. Lolly is clean, really clean, like I can scratch her all the way down to the skin and not get that sort of greasy/dirty fingertips that make me want either not touch her, or wash my hands as soon as I'm done, and she was dry! Have you ever had to dry a mastiff with a blowdryer in the desert in the summer 95+ temperatures? Its a peppermint scent so its very pleasant and Lolly loves peppermint patties, so she loves it. Also as you can imagine, washing/bathing a girl thats nearly 130# is a tough job to start with. I actually washed her in front of the TV watching a movie Friday night. AND I started and stopped at will without having to worry about a dripping shaking dog running all over the place. Again, I'm sorry to go on and on, but I just love this stuff, why hasn't anyone thought of it before?

10. thanks for that
I have what I call a hairy snuffle lumpus. Or a fat hairy dog that likes to sniff everything. I got her by the side of the road type thing and she has more hair than any dog should and she HATES getting baths. Maybe this will solve some of my issues of dirty stinky dog.

11. Oh, yeah, absolutely, you will love this.
Its a huge bottle, you can tell they had bigger dogs in mind when they thought of packaging. I have seen some little 8oz bottles at the local pet outlet, but its purple froo froo stuff and the little bottle wouldn't even clean Lolly's head, much less her body. This stuff sells a 32oz bottle, I expected to use all of it cuz she's quite huge, but I used about 1/3 of a bottle' sems fair.

12. Thanks for that!
I have one of these furballs:

As you can imagine, washing him is rather like trying to comb the head of a rastaman. He HATES the tub, and doesn't care much for the hose, either. I'll try this bingo bath stuff.

How well does it work to get rid of mats and tangles, or am I still stuck with scissors and a long struggle?

14. KEWL! Except for coloring, it looks like the dog on the Bingo Bath site
What a cutie. It claims to have a detangler in it. Lolly's fur is thick, not so long, I did notice the brush went through real easy. And it was so easy to use that I would guess you'd keep up with them easy as you might use it more often than the usual bath. I'm sure hoping it will be that way for me. I could see just setting aside movie night as bath night once a week. I'd never bath Lolly that often with a bathtub and my yard isn't such that I'd wash her outside; nature-scaped so not much grass or ground cover.

6. The name is misleading, Iceberg,Ahead like on the Titanic, not an iceberg stat site.
It's great. The "iceberg" threw me at first, but it explains that "iceberg ahead" is in reference to the sinking of the Titanic. . . not icebergs, per se. I really liked this article. What a guy! I'm kinda like that, I rarely have lights on at night, I bath in less than five gallons of water, disconnected my a/c. After reading that article, I'll be watching for the power company to be at my house soon to check the meter. http://www.icebergahead.org/usa1/USA1.htm

I wish I could Rec this twice.
