Do you think the RW powers that be actually LIKE their followers?
Edited on Mon Jul-07-08 08:51 AM by Husb2Sparkly
I find rabid Repubican followers, as a broad brush statement, intolerable company. I don't like their views. I don't like they way they speak. I don't like the way they *smell*. I don't like a damn thing about them.

The operative word here is 'rabid'. The 23 percenters. The back wash. The willfully ignorant. That stupid fucking woman pictured with the purple heart bandaid on her chin. The ones who go to *political* rallies and act as if they're in a 'christian' church waving their arms with the eyes closed, one hand toward the lord.

Those people.

Do you think the rabid talkers actually hang with that type?

I find the idea of Ann Coulter hanging with them impossible to picture. Ditto the king of them all, Limbaugh. Or O'Reilly. Or Karl Rove, for that matter. Josh Bolton. Poppy and Babs. Lynn and her Dick.

Think about it. Would **any** of them at that level have **any** social commonality with the 23 percenters?

I don't think they **ever** did. I think they seem as the same fools we see them.

edit to fix a typo

1. The upwardly mobile yuppies, probably. The small town/rural types, doubtful
Hence the exalted notion of "prosperity Christianity" within fundie/rightist circles.

2. Of course not. If you start "liking" the patsy, you won't be able to pull off the con.

Wonder how long until after Idiot George removes his stink from the White House that he shitcans that pig farm in Crawford?

8. HELL no, and it shows in their comments fairly regularly.

Remember what Fred Barnes said just a few weeks ago on a panel? I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something about the people in the middle of the country. He referred to them as uneducated and "low class", IIRC. Or how about the abuse that was broadly heaped on evangelicals throughout the corporate media as soon it looked like one of their own (Huckabee) actually had a shot at getting the nomination? Fox News led the way in tearing him apart.

That sort of commentary isn't uncommon in real conservative publications. I mean the publications and books read by the movement's actual leaders; not Ann Coulter's books. It's always in code, of course, but there's a sort of neo-aristocracy thread that runs through and really defines the conservative movement at it's real core. They make a business of bringing in the rubes, of course, but they know it's a con.

And beyond all the social class issues... look at the way the right-wing lies to their base. Some of those fans just lap it up and keep cheering. Would *you* like someone that stupid and gullible? I mean, you might thank your lucky stars you've been blessed with such devoted idiots, but you'd never respect them. How could you?

11. The troops are dying and being maimed for them
and you see how much they give a shit about them - openly and without shame - so one could only imagine just how little they care for anyone else. They're mere pawns being laughed at and played for fools.

But - they continually play the game as if they matter and that they are the "chosen ones" and never speak a word about the lack of care and treatment for those troops they profess to support.

12. Those Who Need Absolutes
It takes a certain degree of guts to be an individualist...to think for oneself and question the world around. It means you see many different sides of an issue and generally not the one you want to. It means facing reality and accepting responsibility for one's actions and making the most of whatever hand you're dealt. And it means being open-minded to change...accepting of it and growing with it. Some have it, some don't.

There are those who need to live in a world of certainty...everything is simple black and white...any shades are ignored and any nuances are ignored as things are more to be proven than questioned. Some need a structure world and to have others think for them...and they always gravitate to those who offer the most certain, simplest message. Also after all these years of message repetition, so many of these asshats have little idea of what they really mean. They're so wrapped up in hypocricies that trying to use reason is futile...just hope they become so disillusioned with things they go and hide in mom's basement...especially until after election day.

Cheers...

:hi:
