What Ralph Nader meant to say and why he couldn't say it. |
|
Many people would probably classify Otto von Bismark as a white man, but even if we knew that Otto von Bismark spoke both German and English, we wouldn't say that Otto von Bismark spoke German and White. "White" is not the name of a language.
"White" also fails to describe any particular mode of action.
However, we can say that someone speaks the language of articulate English-speaking Americans.
That's long-winded, so here is a convenient abbreviation: white-onics.
Ralph Nader meant to say that Obama speaks white-onics.
Nader couldn't say that because Nader wasn't familiar with the term white-onics.
Definition: White-onics, noun The language of articulate English-speaking Americans.

And I don't agree with this whole idea of "white" speak being the only articulate way of communicating.

15. Is there any difference between voting for Nader and voting for McCain? |
|
I believe that there is a difference and I encourage everyone who was planning to vote for McCain to instead vote for Nader!
How's that for talking white? Do I have the hang of it?

13. What Nader meant to say was, "The GOP check cleared... |
|
...so now I can clutter the election-year airwaves with platitudes, for which I have never been able to offer practical solutions."
Oh, and he probably meant to add to that, "I'm an attention whore who has never been able to convince any community to elect me to any office."
