Interesting three wheeled scooter I saw today.. The ScootCoupe 150
I was driving by my local scooter store today and saw this little three wheeler.. I happened to have my camera along and stopped to take some pics.

Figured there might be some interest here on DU..

7. I think the color is intended to mask your vomit
in case riding in the thing makes you upchuck.

4. I was told it will go close to 50 mph if you push it..
The guy was busy and I didn't want to bother him with a bunch of questions since I'm not a potential customer.

I would imagine in the 50 mpg range if you take it easy, possibly a bit more.

10. Alas, the specs page didn't address that
but it's a one-banger, 4 stroke, so it probably gets the same as an equivalent sized motorcycle. It comes with either a 50cc or 150cc engine. I doubt the former does more than 30 MPH.

5. There is an outfit in San Francisco that rents them.
Really cool and fun.

These have GPS in them and can pre-program a tour (for the tourists), or one can just wheel around town in them.

An absolute blast, and pretty easy to deal with even when one has been over-served (from personal experience).

9. As a long term motorcycle rider..
I think two wheel scooters are considerably more dangerous than a motorcycle and probably wouldn't ride one. I rode over a curb that was about five inches high one dark and misty morning when I got in the left turn lane a bit too soon. Got a hell of a thump but didn't come off.. If I had been on a scooter I have no doubt I would have gone over the handlebars when the small front wheel just refused to roll over the obstacle..

I would drive one of these three wheel scooters, I think it's probably considerably more safe than a two wheel version.

15. There *are* other brands of motorcycles than Harley..
The great majority of which are far superior.

This is my bike, it gets 55mpg @ 80mph and is glass smooth at cruise:

11. That's very interesting
That's supposedly more stable at higher speeds than a delta configuration, where the two wheels are at the back that I've also seen. It could benefit from a full fairing for rainy conditions and it would also decrease drag and increase fuel efficiency. Hopefully, scooters like these are just the beginning of even more interesting vehicles to come.

12. Not only more stable at higher speed..
But particularly so under heavy braking, that's when two rear, one front tend to get in trouble.
