This 61-year-old librarian was arrested by a few members of the McCain Fascist Goons at a public location. The sign she held would be considered unoffensive by at least 25% of the population according to national polls. 7. You do realize that list was created entirely to make a political point about America. None of the

fourteen points are endemic to America (or for that matter, any fascist country), and most appear to varying extents in every industrialized/modernized nation-state existing. The "fourteen points" are not used anywhere--and I do mean anywhere--in academia, political science, political commentary, or civilization at large, excepting by disaffected American liberals looking for justification to call their own government fascist.

11. It's good that this comes up on a regular basis.

Because that's where we really are and have been for a long time. And don't think that a new Democratic administration will rock the boat all that much because it most likely will not. This corporatism is deeply ingrained in our government in both parties and will not be so easily rid of, if it can be rid of at all. Obama has the potential to be someone who truly shapes history in a positive way but I don't know that he will. He is inheriting a major, major mess and even if he is sincere and gets the most positive results it will be into his second term before we can even get back to square one. And that's getting way ahead of the game. He needs to get "elected" the first time before we can even begin to talk about what his legacy might be.
