WHY will bush, cheney & the neo cons get away with it all Scott free? |
|
They've ripped off the nation like no other administration before them, they've ordered 4000 soldiers into their graves in vain, they've murdered a million innocent people, and they've started two wars and are planning more, they've done shit that would've gotten any Democrat hung from a tree, yet, they will get away with it all, they'll keep the money they've stolen from us, and they will face absolutely no prosecution and they'll get away with it all while laughing at our stupid asses.
WHY?
Are we just so polite and law abiding that we just don't dare go up against elected officials?
WHY?

3. So It's Just One Person? Damn, She Has Awesome Powers |

I guess the 33 repugnican senators who would use impeachment to exonerate this regime aren't a consideration here.
But then the narrative here is all Pelosi hate all the time.

In her current position she does have the power to do what is right, instead she seems to be doing everything she can to maintain the status quo, the question is why?
Is she just a coward? Is she being blackmailed? Does he really believe that allowing this administration to get away with it's crimes will bring us all together in a mythical cumbaya moment?
Why?
And I don't think she's doing it all by herself but she is the one in the spotlight, and I think Hoyer and Blue Pussies are behind some of this!!! But it won't matter because she's the Speaker of the House, and the ultimate responsibility is hers and hers alone.

6. I Still Don't See That Magic Wand |
|
So you're saying she can get the 67 votes in the Senate to convict? If so, damn, let's string her up right here right now.
She has all control over her caucus? It's not even clear if there are enough votes to bring articles out of the Judiciary Committee yet for a conviction. Anything short of conviction is exoneration, period.
And how about the Majority Leader? Doesn't he hold some responsibility here? If anything, it's Hoyer who has been destructive to the Democratic agenda over the past two years. He's the one who wouldn't let FISA die, he's the one who sets the agenda for what's brought up for votes in the House and he's the one all but bending over backwards for the Blue Dogs. Remember, it wasn't Hastert who was the power, it was DeLay who pushed for Clinton's impeachment. And then without a conviction, what did that impeachment prove? If anything that aqcuital proved the sham it was...a similar acquital for booshie would be the ultimate insult.
I don't absolve Pelosi of being a weak leader...she's acted as if she fears the big corporate media monster and that she must show "results" and this means trying to show partisanship. Many Democrats never were around when the party was in control and it's been a very slow learning curve...while the GOOP has a long-established pattern of obstruction and block voting.
Blaming all problems on one person is both unfair and letting others off the hook. I'm strongly in favor of forcing this regime to be held accountable for their crimes...and ALL crimes. I don't need a political showtrial of one or two, I want ALL the criminals in this regime investigated, and if they broke laws, prosecuted. If they broke international laws, especially the Geneva Convention, then they must be tried for their war crimes.
I'm more concerned that we keep pressure on Senator Obama to push for fixing the politicized Judiciary, assigning a Special Prosecutor and then finally doing the long overdue criminal investigations of this regime. More and better Democrats can ensure that a conviction will happen.

9. Who said anything about impeachment? |
|
My simple request is that if the house issues a subpoena, the speaker should not stand in the way of it being enforced.

11. And Subpoenas Haven't Been Issued? |
|
Maybe I missed something...I sure thought there were several standing Congressional subpoenas that are being ignored by this regime. They're hiding behind "executive privilidge" and until its stricken in court or Congress goes for inherent contempt on its own there will be empty seats and hearings. Pelosi doesn't control that...and she can't stop a Conyers or Waxman or the will of their committees to vote for subpoeanas.
And as far as her supposedly squashing the Rove subpoena, I'm still waiting for a reliable source on that rumor.

8. The people responsible for keeping them in check are (intentionally) looking the other way. |
|
WHY? I'd like to know just as much as you.
There are plenty of instances of elected officials being prosecuted. They generally seem to involve sex or having a (D) after your name.
