Hagee's Revenge? Videos Of Controversial Pastor Removed From YouTube

Late last week, with no prior notification, lawyers for the controversial evangelist John Hagee had a series of videos concerning the pastor removed from YouTube. The clips spanned from the contentious to the mundane; some included footage lifted from sermons Hagee had already made public, others involved documentaries made by filmmakers inside Hagee's conventions. All told more than 120 videos were taken down in the abrupt sweep. The timing was, perhaps, more peculiar than the move itself.

Clips that had been online for well over a year were now being subjected to "third-party" copyright infringement claims. And while Hagee had not been in the mainstream press since he and Sen. John McCain ended their official relationship a month prior, Hagee's Christians United for Israel annual summit is just days away, and at least one prominent McCain backer (Sen. Joseph Lieberman) is set to be in attendance. Two individuals who have documented Hagee and posted clips on some of his more noteworthy sermons (including those interpreted as anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim, and anti-gay -- Hagee, Wilson noted, once claimed that the Anti-Christ will be German, gay, a "blasphemer" and "partly Jewish - as was Adolf Hitler, as was Karl Marx") believe that nefarious motives were behind the YouTube shakedown.

"Obviously Hagee's minions orchestrated this move to suppress bad publicity ahead of their July summit," said Max Blumenthal, a freelance writer and videographer whose documentary on last year's Christians United for Israel summit was viewed by hundreds of thousands. "This is a response to the McCain debacle and concern over bad publicity for Lieberman's appearance," he charged.

"My guess is that videos Hagee's people think are the most damaging are the ones they targeted," said Bruce Wilson, who first highlighted Hagee's claim that the Holocaust was God's means of hastening the apocalypse by driving the Jews to Palestine. "Clearly, the conference at the end of July and the fact that Lieberman is going to be there also played a role. That's my guess. They certainly don't want people to see the more controversial stuff."

Praise Dog, a long while back some inspired brightboy made a plugin for Firefox and it has long been possible to capture YouTube and a load of other video formats to local disk. Nothing, once posted on the Intertoobs, is ever, ever gone for good. That goes for video, email, pictures -- anything. Once it's loose in the wild, it has a life of its own. That has always been and always will be the nature of the 'net. If the Hags think they've cleaned it all up, all they've done is ensure that it'll go viral.

Serves him and them right. If they hadn't made a big deal of it, the whole thing might have died down. Now, they have ensured a whole new second, third, fourth... life, at their own behest. Every time they open their nasty mouths, whoomp'll come another wave of his whollyness's own words.

Schweet when they kick their own hornet's nest over. Morans.

...I've got a couple of free download flv players myself. They can convert flv's to mpegs, wmv's, mpg's, Ipod files, etc. When I see a vid I want to keep, I retrieve a copy of it from my temp folder. You should see the one I have of Oral Roberts preaching about the sins of lesbianism and the proper use of a woman's ladybits. It's a scream!!!!

Control the will of the people, and you control their lives. Independent thought must be quashed at all costs!

Hagee's videos display the hypocrisy (sp) of so called organized religion that is nothing more than a means to
control the masses and divert the energy towards work that benefit's the church/state/society.
Keep people ignorant, afraid and conformant, and you prevent them from being able to defend themselves. Hiding Hagee's videos will reduce the possibility that individuals may actually watch them with a critical eye and see them for what they are.

Not to mention, it is self censorship which increases its value in the mind of the perpetrators.

...not the least of which is the idea that he has a copyright claim on his god's words. Or that his "interpretations" of the future of the world as bestowed upon him by his god, is somehow fungible to his benefit.

The legal tactic he uses here, blatantly underscors the fact that it is NOT the word of god's love that he wishes to advance, and is charged in the bible as a Christian leader to do. But to advance the number of decimal places on his bank balance. But of course The Sheeple won't mind.

Hagee knows that he can usually baffle 'em with bullshit, but a well-edited video is awful hard to overcome. Hence, get control of his image and his video, and he can try to go back to the tried and true.

Unless, of course, some dastardly minion of Satan has already made a mirror of all those "removed" videos. Heh, heh, heh.
