Damn I am SICK of Randi being such a know-it -all
is there anybody that exists she won't talk over like she knows more than them? Is there anyone she will ACTUALLY listen to? Is there any point of view she adopts that she will accept a correction on?

I can't stand to listen to her arrogant ways anymore. She looks more foolish everyday.

Just a clue, Randi, on FISA--your sweetheart John Dean is not the ONLY expert on such things. You only pay attention to the items you want to listen to when the other expert you love comes on. The bit in the new bill about Judgment by a District Court--the Judge WILL NOT rule on the legality of the wiretap. . He will only verify that the President gave the Telecoms an order to wiretap or not, never whether there is any evidence to justify the wiretap. That is not useful for Americans!

But don't listen to me, You never listen to anybody!

1. She is so self-absorbed...
I'm surprised she still wants to talk about anything except her hair and her boobs.

14. I agree... Randi's been a big ego since her days at WSHE
She did afternoons and the liners said "She's only Rock n' Roll." She thought it was her, not WSHE-FM.

2. The worst thing that ever happened to Rhodes is to go national
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 05:09 PM by Gman
She was a good voice for reason and did well pointing out the wrongs in the country when she was a talk show host in Palm Beach. When she went national it was like she was crowned the queen and her ego expanded accordingly.

I lost all respect for her as a person, much less her opinion when she called Hillary and Ferraro "fucking whores" and claimed it was comedy just because she was in a comedy club.

4. After she got fired from Air America, we got Thom Hartmann
in her timeslot. What a gift. He is brilliant, humble, and good with callers. I don't miss Randi at all.

13. He lets them reveal their stupidity. And he is reasonable with them,
just in case he is wrong on something, which is rare. I enjoy TH's show! I've ordered one of his books on ADHD, too.

6. me too--but she has finally alienated me too many times
her excess is good--as long as she's on the right track

she's being misled badly on the FISA debate.

5. If you hate her so much, why do you listen to her? Just curious.
There is an on-off button on most radios AFAIK.

FWIW, I always LOVED listening to her rants when I would listen to AAR online.

9. just a habit--I always look for progressive radio
and at least she's superior to Ed Schultz (although Ed has better guests)

can't quit her! (can't quite stand her)

21. Train Wreck Syndrome
I have one progressive station to listen to... when she comes on, my hand reaches for a CD... but hesitates... is she making a fool of herself again today? Why, yes. Yes she is. I shake my head a few times, and plug in some Tiamat or some other melodic-metal:)

Some people obviously enjoy her show or she wouldn't have a job.

8. Remember, Randi criticized Oprah Winfrey for not being "authentic"
when addressing an African-American audience about her endorsement of Obama. Like Oprah needs Randi's sage advice? Randi must be listening to Rush a little too much and absorbing some of his enormous ego!

16. You will miss her when she's gone.
I have to stream her because I really don't like her replacement on AAR. There isn't anything wrong with him other than the fact he doesn't hold me and I honestly don't remember his name. This is how much pablum this guy is, although I suppose he's polite enough for all the Randi critics. Today I streamed her second hour and she comes up with a one liner about Rush Limbaugh getting millions of dollars. She said it was the first time that a junkie who didn't play a guitar got that much money. Now that was funny and that was Randi. That's part of what I miss.

19. Randi's fine in small doses
But I agree that her personality/self-absorption etc. gets to be too much pretty quickly.

I could listen to Maddow for hours, and Randi for 10-15 minutes.

I feel the same way about Malloy, in that he's fun for about 30 minutes or so, but the schtick gets old.

24. Agree... and when she tossed Sam Seder to the curb...
after his incredible loyalty to her. A caller kissed her ass and added Sam in the "group admiration" session, along with Randi and Malloy, a few weeks back. His comparably short gushing session over Sam and his expressed wish that "we all get him a gig on NOVAM" (meaning she and Malloy) was met by an embarrassing pregnant pause and a few mumbles that made it very clear that she had no inclination to help Sam come on over with her and Malloy...

I guess few DUers heard that, as I kept expecting to see an enraged thread over it. But, damn, combined with everything else lately with Randi, I no longer have much tolerance for her...

I listened to her three times when we first got AAR. I have not listened to her since.
