2. She is by far the best fill-in person for KO.
Much, much better than those in the past who were adequate but by no means as good as Rachel Maddow.

Patrick joins NBC, reunites with Olbermann
Two former SportsCenter icons will co-host Football Night in America

Rich Arden / AP Dan Patrick is currently a columnist at Sports Illustrated and contributes to SI.com.

Olbermann and Patrick reunited
July 7: Countdown’s Keith Olbermann provides an exclusive statement on the news that he will share NFL highlight duties with his former “Big Show” colleague Dan Patrick.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dan Patrick has been named a co-host of NBC's "Football Night in America" studio show, reuniting him with Keith Olbermann. The two redefined sports highlights during their time together on ESPN’s SportsCenter from 1992-97.

Patrick, who will handle highlight duties with Olbermann, joins host Bob Costas and co-hosts Cris Collinsworth and Olbermann, along with analysts Jerome Bettis and Tiki Barber and reporter Peter King.

"We are proud to reunite one of the greatest teams in the history of sports broadcasting. Dan and Keith were more than successful together, they defined the way that sports highlights are now delivered. Their unique delivery has been sorely missed and now they’ll be able to take their act to a primetime network television audience each Sunday night in the fall,” said Dick Ebersol, Chairman, NBC Universal Sports & Olympics.

8. I would adopt Rachel if I could
She deserves her own show on MSNobodyCares, JUST to offset the Reich-wing influence flooding their studios. She is SMART, funny in her own way, and way more interesting than ANYONE except KO on MSNBC.

14. He's always interesting.
So is John Dean. Maddening, though. While the power of the Executive has been expanded beyond all expectation or belief, the congressional leadership is actively and deliberately contracting their powers.

On the other hand, cow urine helps bees!

13. He's getting to be like Johnny Carson.
Hey, if you can get it, go for it.

My boss has untold vacation time, and he invariably takes it at the busiest and toughest times of the year, and leaves me with the work. He's not stupid, I guess.

When it's my turn, see ya.

12. The Lull Before His Storm
Keith's plate will be more than full in the months ahead. Next month NBC will be All Olympics All The Time with KO is an anchoring role. Then there's his football gig that begins right after that...then off he goes into the November election. Hopefully KO is out at the ballpark relaxing, recharing the cells and clearing his head a little.

Rachel brings one of the true Progressive/Liberal voices to a newscast...what a nice alternative. It's a far more welcome replacement than the bobbleheads they tried to put in their (Alex Witt comes to mind) who were totally clueless about this show.
