S&P 500 Index: Worst Performance in History Under Bush 43
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 04:57 AM by Lasher
Based on the closing price on the last trading day of each year, the average annualized gain for all presidents, Carter through Clinton was 11.86%. Using the same measurement for Dubya's time in office, and assuming that the market will perform the same during the second half this year as it did in the first, we get a yearly average loss of 0.82%.

I did not adjust for inflation.

2. Look at the Clinton years!!!
I want to weep with the way Bush Jr. squandered what was handed to him in a silver platter. A balanced budget, the best economy in over 40 years, the largest economic growth in US history.

And yet, people from the left as much as the right keep trashing Bill.

And that applies to every single category I can think of. I agree with many historians, this is the worst president ever.

Edit: Here's another little thing I put together. Look how people on Medicare have fared under Dubya, compared to Clinton:

Under Clinton the $100.00 deductible did not change. During Bush 43's 8 years it went up to $135.06.
