Get Bent Perino
In trans-Pacific volley, Perino demands apology from senator

From Tokyo comes word that Dana Perino, the White House press secretary, wants an apology from Sen. Barbara Boxer.

The California Democrat and chair of the Senate Environment Committee accused Perino today of lying about why the White House had pushed for deletions in congressional testimony from the Environmental Protection Agency regarding the effects of global warming on public health.

Boxer placed the blame in the office of Vice President Dick Cheney -- and said Perino then lied about the reason for the deletions.

In Japan, where President Bush was attending the annual Group of 8 summit, Perino told reporters Thursday morning (Tokyo time): “I have never said such a thing about a fellow public servant, and I wouldn’t if I didn’t have all the facts."

"I think I deserve an apology," she added, completing the trans-Pacific volley between Capitol Hill and Japan.

Not likely, according to this response from Natalie Ravitz, Boxer's spokeswoman: "It is the Bush administration that owes the American people an apology for covering up the dangers of global warming."

8. Right.
Exactly. Of course, a non-criminal administration would have no need to demand apologies.

12. Even if someone said something horribly untrue about that bunch
...for them, of all people, to demand an apology?

As if anything about them is legitimate or on the up and up...as if they command respect...

2. To quote the Stones..."Well, you can't always get what you want."
And Boxer doesn't need to apologize for speaking the truth.

4. One of the small pleasures of bush's long-awaited Blessed Departure...
...will be the relief of ending the unbroken string of emetic, dishonest spokesliars we have seen at that podium during the accursed bush years. Perino is at least reasonably good-looking (especially compared to Fleischer) but they have all been lying sacks of crap, every one. Even you, Scottie.

7. "a fellow public servant"???
Perino is not a public servant. A public servant is someone who has been elected by the public, or appointed through a known process such as Supreme Court justices. Perino is a paid hack, not a public servant, by any definition I'm aware of. Well at least it reveals her mindset, believing that by serving her president, she has joined the ranks of those who serve the public.

Far from it, Dana, far from it. You aren't fit to lick Senator Boxer's... shoes.

13. JFK used to follow the philosophy...
"Never explain, but never complain!" Kennedy was confident that he and the people around him were doing the right thing, so none of them needed to get into convoluted explanations for their actions, nor whine at public criticism.
