6. Black and white
No fig leaf, not even a tactical "no" vote knowing it would do no good and would give his more rabid supporters a beatstick to use on us on the Left.

Instead, he sent a signal to the Powers that Be- you can count on me to do what you want.

29. As much as I fought against Clinton in the primaries this really shocked me
I am really proud of her for doing the right thing here, as upset as I was with her for dragging the nomination for as long as it went I am happy to say that as a result of this I have gained a lot of respect back for her while I just lost a bunch of respect that I once had for Obama.

33. She dragged the nomination because she was nose to nose with Obama
and because thousands of supporters asked her to stay until the end. She has the grit and courage that IMO our nominee lacks and I still think that Obama will end up disillusioning those who voted for him in the primary.

45. She knew she had lost after super tuesday
her staying in had to do with her idea that she was entitled to the nomination, it had nothing to do with courage. And as a result Obama is now forced to help her raise 20 million dollars to pay off her debt instead of using that energy to get that kind of money to his campaign. Not to mention all the ammunition the right wing now has because of some of the statements she made in the primary long after it was clear to everyone but her supporters that she had lost the fight.

With that said I am glad she voted the way she did yesterday. And you are absolutely right, Obama will disillusion a lot of people that voted for him, he already is doing that with his FISA vote yesterday. It's politics as usual, and I can speak for a lot of long time Obama supporters when I say that's hella disappointing.

21. It Doesn't Matter
Because you HAVE to support Obama. THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE.

He can vote himself dictatorial powers, and you HAVE TO SUPPORT HIM.

Remember, not voting is a vote for McSame. So even if you don't like him. Even if he does things which piss you off completely. Even if he gets on TV and says, "I wish this were a dictatorship," you HAVE TO SUPPORT HIM.

Oh, and if you don't, prepare to be banned from this board, because we can't allow any disagreement here either.

For various reasons, I am projecting MI will be the Ohio & Florida of the 2008 s-election. But that could just be the paranoia brought on by 2000/2004, I suppose.

43. California might be the next Ohio
considering that:

-Enron planned their schemes in advance
-There is rumor of a secret meeting with Ahnold prior to the brownouts/recall election
-Enron's phony energy shortage caused a recall election, allowing Ahnold to get into power
-Enron were major Bush contributors/advisors
-Ahnold has now had time to work the poison into California.

These clowns create causes and conditions (see link in my signature). Pray that they don't create more causes and conditions allowing Ahnold into the White House.

I believe that somewhere in the book "one" Richard Bach said "How quickly the cunning steal power from the unaware." Also causing me to not trust Richard Bach.

40. Yes, I go back to a statement from last year...
http://www.barackobama.com/2007/08/01/the_war_we_need_to_win.php

"...This Administration also puts forward a false choice between the liberties we cherish and the security we demand. I will provide our intelligence and law enforcement agencies with the tools they need to track and take out the terrorists without undermining our Constitution and our freedom.

That means no more illegal wire-tapping of American citizens..."

Is it legal now?

And if by some chance the Repubs steal the election or the bill, after the sunset provision, remains in effect will we trust that person with these expanded powers.
