Poll question: Where Do DUers Fall with Today's Passage of the FISA Bill?
This is not a poll suggesting anything, just a way to gauge how folks feel about FISA.

3. I'm against it and pissed at Obama...
I'm not sure if we're allowed to say that or not, but I'm so stinking mad right now at him. Yeah, yeah, I have no choice have to support him don't want McSame, etc. etc.

Whatever. Doesn't mean I can't be fucking pissed at his cowardice.

16. WOW. That is the saddest thing I've ever read on DU.
"I'm not sure if we're allowed to say that or not . . ."

omg.

What has happened to this forum?

*btw - I agree with you*

23. Well, I would think such a major vote...
..on such an important bill, so drastically counter to what everyone on DU supports would have the forum flooded with posts complaining about, bitching about, or expressing dissapoinment with Obama. But last I checked that wasn't the case so I'm assuming things are being censored or tongues being held. I haven't checked in a while so maybe I'm wrong.

31. It's a reasonable thing to think that there would be a lot of
expression of disappointment - and there has been quite a bit. But I agree that there is a de facto sort of censorship happening on DU now; mostly self-censoring I think, because there are people on DU who will screech and point with a virulence that is uncomfortably reminiscent of McCarthyism.

And that is very, very sad.

they have done a good job at confusing people on this

6. I'm against the FISA Amendment, but...
I'm for Obama voting for it, because he's just trying to win an election or whatever... but
once Obama becomes president, he won't be for it anymore, he'll be against it and he'll change it... but if he's still for it after he becomes president, I'll be angry at him and then he'll be against it...But I can't TELL you I'd be angry at him, because then nobody will vote for him and he won't be president.
So SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!
:eyes:

10. Sorry. Bad attempt at humor.
I don't think it was sarcasm. I think, maybe, I was being sardonic. Couldn't find a smiley for that.

17. a while back, when I was young, someone, might have been a teacher
said, "Only communist countries feel the need to spy on their citizens, or to lock them up without charging them of any type of crime." I guess she didn't see this coming at all.

The great experiment is over, we lost to the corporations and their buttbuddies.

19. Today's bill affects foreigners
who never had constitutional protection in the first place. I support parts of it and oppose parts of it and otherwise am just sick of it because you can't have a rational discussion in this country and come up with rational solutions.
