1. That is exactly how I feel. I will never call myself a Democrat again
We were abandoned by the filthy bastards who run the party and I'll be god damned if I will be a part of it or support it in any way.

4. I decided to float like a cork until November, emotional-wise
Meantime, I'll put whatever pressure I can on my reps in Congress and on Obama. I hope I can keep it all going and stay sane.

But at my age (61) I've seen a lot of bad things but also progress that feels like a cha-cha. Three steps forward and couple back and then forward again.

Just as an aside - A young college age woman came to our door signing people up for a Progressive organization dedicated to ending the war, health care reform and dealing with global warming. She's out there day after day going door to door in the July heat. If I give up I'll be letting her down and I can't do that.

5. We are a people in denial,...practically dead before death.
We'll take two last breaths when Obama looses the presidency.

Then, "democracy" will finally die.

10. Usually when one does something that is
particularly distasteful and not something that you would have done without some prodding, it's because you are possibly returning a favor or are being promised something in return at some future time. So here we had a bill that could have easily sat in committe and just waited until a more favorable time to consider it without increasing the country's risk one iota. So why did they do it? Besides the chimp getting another get out of jail free card and the telecoms getting out of jeopardy never again having to worry about defending their lawbreaking at the administration's behest, who benefitted?

We the people don't benefit, we actually lose a bunch of 4th amendment rights, so that's not it. Are we going to see a plethora of terrorism cases brought to trial now that DHS can hear every word uttered into a phone or typed into a keybord? Probably not. Who benefits the most from this? bushie and the telecoms, not "We The People" that's who. That's not government of the people, by the people, and for the people, that's government of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations and it's time for another fucking tea party if you ask me.

11. It was clear that our Democratic Republic was being murdered...
When JFK was killed, and we never got a satisfactory answer as to who did it and why. The killers and enablers have won. The rest of us have lost, and Liberty now walks through the valley of the shadow of death.
