|
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 07:54 PM by alyce douglas
60 something Senators vote NO (especially the Democratic ones). This is another dark day for our country and our Constitution, plus I do not want to see that SOB smirking ear to ear on this one. Disgusting giving this POS * all this power.
My Senator Reed did the right thing, but what about Whitehouse (voted the wrong way).

I watched Sicko recently and actually wept thinking that the one person remaining in the race who could have gotten us closer to universal health care was thrown under the bus. It's saying something that the AMA and the Nurse's Association endorsed her. In PA we had a doctor volunteer in the Reading office who came from TX. He had put his practice on hold for a week because he believed in her health care plan so much.
Oh well, too late now........

Sorry to see Diane Feinstein would not join you. And I'm happy to also see my old state of Michigan well-represented.
Unfortunately, his poor judgment on this issue weighs heavily against Obama's argument that his speaking out against the Iraq War Resolution demonstrates his good judgment.
The Senators on this list have shown a respect for the Constitution and this country that I only wish were shared by the rest of the Senate.

She always does the right thing. I never have to call and beg her or plead with her to do the right thing. She just does it. It's so nice to have a senator like her. I can relax and concentrate on my job knowing she is doing hers. If only all our representatives were like her.

48. These Senators didn't do enough. Sorry. |
|
Any one of them (and preferably a whole bunch of them together) should've gone to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and said that if the FISA legislation at hand passes with retroactive immunity in place for the telecoms, then EVERY piece of legislation in the Senate would be subject to a hold and cloture vote. But it seems that these Senators thought that gutting the Fourth Amendment wasn't as high a price to pay as perhaps everyone not getting along in the Senate chamber.
All these Senators did was speak words, pretty little words that soothed the left and anyone else out there concerned about the Constitution. And yet, for all the more they could have done, these Senators are considered heroes.
