New indictment tonight in corruption probe - Alaska
http://www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=8651095

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Reliable sources tell Channel 2 News that a grand jury has handed up a new indictment this evening in the ongoing public corruption probe.

There is no word yet who has been charged.

One current state senator, John Cowdery, and one former state senator, Ben Stevens (Ted's son), had their offices raided by federal agents in 2006.

Both were implicated in court testimony in 2007 as accepting bribes from former VECO Corp. executives. Both have thus far remained uncharged.

This is a developing story. Please return to KTUU.com for updates to this story and stay tuned to the Channel 2 News evening broadcasts for the developing report.

---------------------

Three former Alaska legislators (Republicans, of course) are currently cooling their heels in federal prison. Another is awaiting trial. I can't wait to see who they've nabbed this time. It would be SWEET if it's Ben Stevens.

1. I'd like to see Ted ("Tubes") himself in the dock.

5. I agree.
It's been a very big continuing story up here, of course, with all kinds of twists and turns, but for some reason it hasn't gained a lot of traction down south. I believe that these corruption trials, coupled with the Supreme Court's recent ruling against Alaska in the EXXON VALDEZ punitive damages decision, could very well turn Alaska blue this fall. Of course, we only have three tiny electoral votes, but it could make a difference in a close election.

7. CBC - Corrupt Bastards Club
and they even had hats made with the initials. It was all a big joke to them. Vic Kohring, who just went off to prison last week, STILL hasn't figured out what he did wrong. That's even considering that the FBI has videotape of money being passed to him from VECO's Bill Allen, and Vic saying, "Hey, if there's anything else I can do for you guys, let me know." What an idiot.

12. It turns out to be John Cowdery
this time around. See my post here http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=3595595&mesg_id=3595595

It looks like they're culling out the little fish first, and will catch up with the big guys later. I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Ben Stevens' downfall.
