An email I received this morning from Russ Feingold through his Progressive Patriots organization:

Yesterday's passage of a deeply flawed FISA bill is the best example yet of why I'm committed to electing more progressive Senators and Members of Congress. While I’m deeply disappointed that not enough of my colleagues stood with me, I remain determined to help elect America’s next generation of progressives. An important effort to help make that happen is our 2008 Patriot Corps.

Please support our efforts to train and hire 20 Patriot Corps activists and place them on key campaigns throughout the country with a contribution today of $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can afford.

With your help we have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to great candidates over the years, but there is nothing more valuable than a motivated grassroots activist who is committed to voter outreach. Patriot Corps members will be paid $500 per week, provided free housing, and will be on the ground in 20 targeted campaigns for the final months of this election season.

This is an expensive program, but one that I know can make a difference in close races. I need your financial support to make sure this program is as successful in 2008 as it was in 2006.
