...that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats had ample opportunity to stop the mayhem by removing Bush/Cheney from office with impeachment.

But apparently "off the table" also means dangerously stubborn.

What bigger of security threat is there then extending and opening another front in the middle east for Bush's war?

1. impeachment doesn't prevent presidents from attacking other countries
Clinton bombed Iraq during his impeachment.

6. And it would take
longer for carefully, respectfully diligent, non MSM supported, DINO ridden to even get the matter moving
when "on the table." At the moment and from then on until REMOVAL, the active cards are all in the hands of the administration. The type of decisive, strong leadership even to take on this scenario simply does not exist nor will exist in 2009, so much damage has been done to the presumptive "people's party".

Sometimes, well most times, "progress" is not about simply arriving but the journey. Our current Congress, with some very good reason based on its own failures, sees impeachment as a roadblock, as quicksand, etc. It should be a reminder as well a continuing danger that the long road ahead will not suddenly bloom intoi a golden age of law, democracy and great resolutions, firm decisions of justice. Holding the self blinded eyes of our current leadership to the mirror, sharing the anger and horror, maybe will get a few of them to change or get out for a new generation. Let them walk away. They should not be there any longer than it takes to undo what they can of the damage they caused. Instead they think it a grand opportunity to get things done long denied by meek absence of power. Nothing, by anyone, will be good enough by the tombs, by rights denied, by evils done that will never be undone or readdressed.

2. By that point, it won't matter anymore.
Another front? I'm thinking more along the lines of nuclear war.

4. You forgot something: The story will be that Iran attacked first and
U.S. and Israel will be defending each other.
